His areas of interest include, cardiovascular health, diabetes, IBS, weight management, malnutrition and sport performance. He uses a food positive, non-diet approach and says, “It’s all about creating healthy habits and mind sets, not restrictions”.

Podiatrist

Iona graduated from the University of South Australia in 1996. Early career positions were within community health centres around Adelaide. In 1997 Iona commenced private practice to offer a podiatry service to the people of the Northern areas of Adelaide an excellent podiatry experience. 2001 brought Iona to Alice Springs for a brief stint in private practice and Aboriginal Congress. Since graduation Iona has undertaken training in various areas; foot mobilisation and manipulation, dry needling and podiatric acupuncture to name a few. Iona’s interest in a more “hands-on approach“. Iona is consulting at Munno Para Family Medical.

Danny Gilbert
Physiotherapist
Danny attained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at The University Of South Australia in 2001. Since then Danny has worked in a variety of private practices and aged care facilities. In 2004 he achieved his acupuncture certificate and then founded Physio 4 Life in 2005 with the help and support of close friends and family. He is enthusiastic about injury prevention and management of sporting and workplace injuries. His focus is hands on treatment and exercise rehabilitation and educates and empowers his clients in their recovery.

MENTAL HEALTH: Specialisation include complex trauma, long-term unemployed with complex psychosocial issues, elderly living with mental health issues and or in isolation & men’s wellbeing Management and treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, substance abuse, psychotic, personality and relationship issues, health related and complex interpersonal psychosocial issues. I have extensive experience with people who have sustained significant trauma arising during child or adulthood.

• A Mental Health Plan will be required. Patients are required to maintain a mental health plan updated.
• Services to Centrelink, Pension and Health Care Card holders will be bulk billed, which can also be extended to PAYE patients.
• Patient assigns their bulk billing rights to me.
• No medical/legal or letters of support for e.g. NDIS/Centrelink/CPS provided.
• Mandatory reporting requirements apply.
• Written reports will only be provided to your referring GP at regular intervals

Under the Medicare Australia Focussed Psychological Strategies Program (FPS) and refers to specific mental healthcare treatments based on evidence-based psychological therapies. Under the Better Access initiative GPs, Clinical Social Workers (Mental Health), Psychologists who are registered FPS providers can use a range of acceptable FPS that fall into the following categories, for example: • cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) , interpersonal therapy (ITP)

Mr Reg Charles
Physiotherapist

Reg completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia. Since finishing he has worked in both private practice and aged care settings. He has completed courses in Pilates and dry needling, always keen to broaden his skills. Reg is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and is enthused about injury prevention, treating sports injuries, returning workers back to the workplace and improving the quality of life for all his clients. Reg likes the hands on treatment approach, plus exercise rehabilitation with a focus on the combination of the client’s expectations and the best researched evidence to achieve the best possible outcome.

Zhi Xun GOH
Physiotherapist

Zhi is the director and head physiotherapist in Physio Friend. He graduated from the University of South Australia with a Masters of Physiotherapy (GE) and from University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Science , majoring in Biomedical Science. Zhi previously served as an officer in the Singapore Armed Forces and is an avid sports enthusiast.

Zhi’s clientele range from the less active senior citizens and desk bound office workers, to the more active developing adolescents, schooling teens, professional/recreational athletes, military and law enforcement personnel.

In addition to his physiotherapy involvements, Zhi is also a Pool (Billiards) fanatic. He trains multiple days a week and devotes a large portion of his time in supporting the local and international pool community.
